If Collins and Murkowski busted their picks to find more GOP votes, they’d have a shot at being heroes. We’ve circled the token GOP protest vote many times before.
If she and Collins vote no , like every other GQP should , I am good with them , for now . Not many of us apply or jobs that we aren’t qualified to do even get an interview . Boozer & sex abuser Pete has been qualified for a vote for DOD head which is mind -blowing , even for the MAGA
brains.
I'm not expecting her to be. Both she and Mrs Collins have a history of flipping to Trump's side at the vote. Something about getting something in return...
Lisa never would have been elected in her 2010 write-in campaign against Joe Miller without the help of squeamish democrats who were too afraid of Miller to vote for Scott McAdams, so every once in a while she throws us a bone.
Oh, I know. I was there. I voted for McAdams. I lived in Palmer. Murky lost her primary to Miller because she didn't even campaign. She just assumed we'd all vote for her again. Then she panicked, and like you said so did democrats, and she got back in. She won't ever let that happen again.
As for the 2010 primary, she wasn’t taking into account how many antiabortion people would come out for the parental notification referendum. I think Prevo and Minnery were riling up the masses, and Miller was their guy.
Scott would have been good. I’ve never been so disgusted by my fellow Alaska Democrats. Ranked choice will probably save her from here on out. (I do favor RCV, though.)
That sounds right. I never could understand the fealty to the Murkowskis after Frank stiffed Sitnasuak so badly. I did paralegal work on that massive case.
ANCSA corps are often corrupt entities themselves, and at that point they were relying on Murkowski for goodies and finishing up land selections. Lisa was a familiar face to rural voters. She is starting to lose some of that base as they swing right.
No, her statement today is a pretty clear sign that they have the votes and she’s being “allowed” to vote her conscience. We’ve seen this movie too many times.
You are absolutely right. I used to see Romney do this same exact thing. It used to piss me off. 🤬 They aren't brave at all. She is well aware of the votes before hand. Vance will be the tie- breaker. It's purely for optics.
I am looking for any ally on any flchallenge we have in front of us. I don't need heroes or purity tests. We make this country better by accepting allies where we can, even if they are on opposite side from us in the next challenge.
When I saw that she and Collins were NO votes on Hegseth, I figured he had just enough GOP votes to swing by on or at least get a tie so VP Couch-humper could break the tie, so she and Collins could look noble and the champions of women everywhere lol.
Use whatever term you want. Are you against ever working with anyone that you're ideologically opposed to? Cause I basically disagree with Liz Cheney on every fucking point of socio-economic policy, but she was on the right side of the J6 issue.
Her and Susan Collins are opposing because they know the votes are there to confirm him without them. It is safe for them to oppose and have an election talking point. Too many times they have not stood up when it would make a real difference.
Respectfully, Murkowski doesn’t need to vote like a Democrat, she needs to vote like an American concerned with our Defense.
In Alaska, she champions the rights of Indigenous women, earning her good will that helped her win against the Trumper challenger the GOP got to primary her.
I don’t believe they have done the final vote yet. Collins and Murkowski voted against moving Hegseth’s name forward for a vote by all is the way I understand it.
Every time a Republican does their normal job, Dems want to give them a medal and hero-worship them. Knock it off! Harris might’ve won if Dems courted their own lefties rather than Cheney et al.
She really likes to delay actually stating a decision until the last moment while talking about doing one thing, and then suddenly flop to the other choice at the last moment. I'm not sure why anyone believes she's acting in good faith, basically ever.
No, she isn't a hero.
But. She does have more integrity than most elected republicans. And she has her seat despite losing a primary to a Tea Partier, winning as a write-in candidate. She has some independence, and while I won't agree with her most of the time, I appreciate that she has spoken out.
She has NO integrity. She used to be my senator. I've met her. Her father was the most corrupt politician in Alaskan history, and that's saying something. She lost her primary to Miller because she didn't even campaign. As soon as the check clears, she'll fold.
Seriously. Why are Dems always going she'll do the right thing? All of these breathless "Murkowski has doubts!" posts. Gross. Also, she is part of how we got into this mess.
She's the only one I've got at this second so I'm going to take it. We do not need another creep in command of women in uniform. We've been through enough of this shit.
During Trump 45 when McConnell had enough votes, Collins would vote against controversial things.
She voted 10 times to not have witnesses for the impeachment, until Alexander said he'd vote no, then when it didn't matter, she "found the courage" to vote yes as witnesses were important.
When Collins had the chance to be the deciding vote to block DeVos’ nomination, she voted with her party to advance. But when her party had already secured enough votes to confirm DeVos on the Senate floor, and her vote no longer mattered, Collins voted against her party.
They used to always trot one out to appear on MSNBC to appear sane, but then they'd always get in line. I think it was just to make the Democrats complacent thinking the insanity wouldn't hold. Now none of them dare even pretend to be sane. Donny from Queens won't have it.

aliens are space liberals. they hug trees and kiss animals. they laugh at trump, musk, and every trump supporter.
brains.
Call me when 4+ Rs vote no
No-one is coming to save us. We have to do it.
It's like they just sprang up over night, without any sense of what has passed beforehand.
No sense of very recent history at all.
It's very disappointing, and disheartening.
💯
Nor would she choose to.
LOL
Alliance.
She gets to tell her voters she tried. Rs still get what they want
In Alaska, she champions the rights of Indigenous women, earning her good will that helped her win against the Trumper challenger the GOP got to primary her.
She will wreck havoc at the UN.
Noise but no spine.

She also caved on Kavanaugh though, so idk.
She's still complicit.
Need two more before this is anything other than performative.
Weird take.
She voted 10 times to not have witnesses for the impeachment, until Alexander said he'd vote no, then when it didn't matter, she "found the courage" to vote yes as witnesses were important.
It's a pattern.
I believe when she actually votes against Drunky McRapist.
