I miss the days when billionaires spent a portion of their largesse on libraries, museums, endowing chairs at universities and building hospital wings.
billionaires basically live like prisoners, they can’t move freely, they’re always under heavy guard, and when they do move it’s from one secure location to another, although as prisons go, theirs are very swanky
Heck, I'll settle for them funding libraries, parks, concert halls, etc., even when it's a transparent attempt to burnish their reps, because in the end, those things often flourished and worked, regardless of the motives of their funders.
… Back when they understood ATTENTION SEEKING was counter-productive because; A LOT MORE Middle Class/Poor than they will EVER have? Is a situation that’s ALWAYS BEEN *dangerous* for them.
I want Gavin Newsom to go on a Northern California tour looking for the "World's Biggest Spigot" that connects Canada and Northern California with the invisible "half pipes" that skip over Washington and Oregon.
