to develop for iPhone, Apple now requires XCode 16, which only runs on the latest two MacOS releases, i.e if you don't have Mac that runs their OS released 18 months ago, it can't be used for iPhone development. the solution is go spend ~$600 on a new build machine

I can afford a new computer, I just hate
A: you must use SDK 18 (released 6 months ago)
B: somehow SDK 18 can't be built on MacOS from 2022.

I don't care that the device is losing support, I just want to compile an iOS app, it's already stupid that MacOS is required in the first place
I understand people using iOS because they prefer it to Android, but any defense of their business practices is insane to me
