Great thread on what to expect when you call your reps. One thing I’ll add (which I also say about meeting with reps/staffers irl)—however unusual this interaction is to you, they do this all the time, and most of the time it’s in their interest to cooperate with the basic terms of the interaction

Great questions!
1. You can call most reps after hours and leave messages on their machines, which is fine! But some (like Schumer, grr) turn off their machines after hours.
2. For local reps, any time is pretty good. For US reps and senators, I have the best luck getting a human at 9 am.
