Both Donald Trump and Elon Musk have long histories of defunding the government. The former by never paying his taxes and the latter by being a corporate welfare baby.

I can't help thinking that the DOGE is a scheme set up, in part, to further enrich billionaires like Trump, Musk, Ramaswamy, and some of the rich guys he wants in his Cabinet. Any improvements in government efficiency will come with an enormous cost.
1. "Defund Musk" protests at Tesla dealers and Tesla & SpaceX HQs
2. Purchase Ford or GM EV's, but never Tesla
3. No more taxpayer $ for Musk's Martian adventure
1. Musk literally doesn't care. His purpose is to drive electrification. Tesla gives away their patents to competitors, for free, to speed conversion.
2. Every Ford or GM EV sold kills those companies faster; they lose money on each sale.
3. SpaceX is the low bidder. ULA cost 10x for no return.
"losses include hundreds of millions on research and development of the next generation of EVs for Ford."
"Despite the EV losses, Ford CEO Jim Farley said the company’s planned next generation of EVs will allow it to be profitable on that business in near future."
ULA uses expendable rockets (and cost-plus $$$). SpaceX uses mostly reusable rockets now (fixed price), and fully reusable with Starship.
Starship development is largely funded by Starlink and StarShield, though the military are also very interested in 20-minute point to point anywhere on Earth.
Folks! If you have any solid evidence or compelling stories to share, pls don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’m part of a team of 4 investigative journalists, one of whom is currently in Congo gathering evidence on Musk’s subsidies and one techy working to trace his financial transactions. Thanks!
President Elon makes the ugliest, dumbest, most dangerous trucks. 🎼🎶🎵Oh I wish he was not electoral college weiner 🌭 That is what I really hate to see.

3. Please document the 10x number. Important for U.S. to develop competitors to SpaceX for national security reasons.

GM won't report losses per EV, but it's on par. Neither knows how to scale production, though they are looking at Tesla's methodology.
