My heart goes out to all the stars who lost everything in the LA fires in Malibu, but also to the people who live paycheck-to-paycheck who had their jobs in hair, makeup, and wardrobe stopped because of the fires. What a horrible ordeal to everyone.

This will be 2025 , for all of USA. Because of new , hateful presidency/ Oligargy. I am a Pet care/ Dog sitter / Dog walker. My. My. Ms. Bowers, this a great post. I love following you. . I chose to stay? in the WRONG profession. Pet Care. Cant do retail? No. All my MOTO / Powersports / Bicycle
If you are wealthy and you lose your home and belongings you feel the same emotions as a person who just has a little place to live. The pain of loss is universal. My heart breaks for all those who have suffered loss and for the people that lost a family member or friend. 💙
Thank you so much. We all are one and I wish people would think about that and let it help us become better people. This saying is old, but I am too. If everyone lit just one little candle what a bright world this would be. Rich or poor or in between we feel the same emotions. 💙
This is an industry whose employees have been through a lot over the last five years: Covid, Writers Guild strike, SAG-AFTRA strike and now the fires. From admins, custodians, food service, crew members, actors, writers to directors, they have been struggling.
Also the people who worked in the local businesses. Restaurants hair and nail salons hardware store fast food restaurants banks ma and pa business been the neighborhood for years auto shops doctors offices etc.
The stars will be fine it's the poor and working class that are going to suffer the most. They lost their only home, everything they owned and possibly their place of work as well. Many working class people will not recover and will be on the streets possibly the rest of their lives.
Tragic my neighbor had a traveling nurse who was here 8 months and she couldn’t stay any longer her next appointment was cassabas ca she works with cancer patients. She has a place to stay. Seams like a rough place to be appointed to. Since this fire happened
I tried to explain to morons in my small Texas town that the majority of people affected were teachers, industrial workers and film/stage technicians. None of those people are rich but Texans tend to believe whatever the internet tells them so go figure.
It wasn’t just stars who lost their homes, a lot of normal people did too. My cousin‘s house burned down, and 2 dozen of my colleagues lost their houses.
A 25 year Fire wife here, & we had some of our own first responders lose their own homes in some of these fires. Fires don't discriminate what industry you work in.
To be fair, the majority of people who lost their homes, were NOT celebs nor in the industry. You just don't hear about the mom/dad/kids, who not only lost their house but their school/ church their neighborhood grocery store... don't get me started on the first responders who lost their own homes.
Yep, we are safe from the fires (thank God), but hubs lost a week of work after having a month off for holidays because the studio didn't want anyone there. We'll survive because he's been in the biz long enough that we know to put some aside, but dang! not many people can go 6 weeks not working.😕
In Pacific Palisades, the value will be in the real estate and the contents, not the box. Even the fanciest of the boxes
Actual rebuilding might be financed on that equity if the lender could agree to lower insurance requirements
Couldn't you just write , "my heart goes out to ALL THE PEOPLE,..."?
Why dividing in "stars", and then ow yes, and the people living paycheck to paycheck? Sounds so degrading.
Lots of service people too- waitstaff, store clerks, grocery and food service workers. Many, many Restaurants, retail stores, supermarkets,
etc. have been destroyed by the fire.
Vultures are already trying to make outrageously low offers to folks who lost their houses and who are trying to figure out their next steps. Newsom's trying to stop it, but it will be hard for some people to ever fully recover financially.
The Average American does not realize how much "Hollywood" contributes to our GDP and "entertainment" is truly our largest export,Movies, TV and MUSIC are all exported commodities that truly reach around the world! and a very real reason why California is the sixth largest economy in the world..
It’s simply because they think, he really thinks they “matter”. How many folks from his MAGA voting base have Senate Confirmation hearings today for anything relatively important?? None. Nada. Zip. Does he know or show how he’s gonna make things better for anyone, anywhere in Podunk, USA?? Nah, 👎🙄
And the housekeepers , Nanny’s, gardeners, pool maintenance staff too , my god this disaster goes way past the homeowners themselves it’s devastating 😰😰😰
Small business owners, families with children, care facilities, farms…
Lots of lives outside of the entertainment industry have been devastated as well. Everyone matters.
It is always important to remember the sheer number of people that the entertainment employs that are behind the scenes.
This tragedy is beyond anything imaginable.
Thank you for pointing these

The house where Carlo rented a basement apartment in Altadena. Burned down. He evacuated in time, but working from home until something else can be figured out.
How about the dentists, small biz owners, hairdressers, nurses, bus drivers, short order cooks? You got the idea. You could live and work your whole life in L.A. County and never know it had anything to do with the entertainment industry.
Which is why suggestions to cancel things like the Oscars is a well-intentioned but stupid suggestion.
Behind-the-scenes folks who make these extravagant productions happen are some of the people who have lost their homes & who would be held by getting the work and paycheck to put on these shows.
Why did the firefighters run out of water. Why as reported by numerous sources are reservoirs empty. Why did State Farm Insurance cancel policies due to homes being a high fire risk. Why hasn’t control burns of brush not been conducted. Just saying…..

Oh, and for all us brokeys too...

But I have to ask, have you ever been to L.A.?
I'm not sure it's what you think it is.
etc. have been destroyed by the fire.
We had first responders out on the fires who lost their own homes. Nothing makes sense.
rebuild it better.

The Pacific Palisades fire mostly affected the wealthy.
Behind-the-scenes folks who make these extravagant productions happen are some of the people who have lost their homes & who would be held by getting the work and paycheck to put on these shows.
(fucking auto incorrect)
What did Gavin Newsom and Bass do wrong?
Please give an intelligent answer and not some talking point you got off of X or Fox News.
My heart goes out to everyone that was affected but most, especially those that are financially disadvantage before or as a result of the fire.
