More and more people here in Europe are leaving the right-wing garbage can X and switching to BlueSky. We Europeans have slightly different ideas about freedom of speech. Death threats, incitement and slander are also punishable in "real" life here and that's a good thing!
All those things can result in consequences here, too. Slander would be a civil suit, but death threats and incitement to commit crime can both result in prison time. Free speech has always been subject to reasonable limitations

We Europeans are also afraid of what this truly disastrous government troop can mess up around the world. The danger of a decline in our democratic values is real.
They are doing real damage that will result in deaths here and abroad. In addition, they are sowing fear and distrust. Things that were considered safe by virtue of common decency are not.
I believe we will survive this as a democracy but it will take decades to clean up the mess.
