My cat loves to go outside. She also would love to kill a bird if given the opportunity. She would love to eat all of the dog's food, barf it up, then eat the barf. She would love to eat a whole plastic wrapper, my pills, a bar of chocolate, etc. You don't just let your animals do what they want!!!

This!! I let my kitties out on my patio. I’m also on the second floor with nothing around to entice them to try jumping. They get to smell fresh air and lay in the sun then come back inside after a couple minutes 😭

I've disabled rando replies because I have absolutely zero interest in having an argument about whether cats should go outside or not. I grew up with outside cats with best possible outcomes. I have an indoor cat now. She will be indoor forever. If you want to argue that's cruel, block me instead 🎉

Do me a favor and google the effects of outdoor cats on wildlife. Literally billions of birds and mammals yearly. There is no argument (yes, including "well, a lot of that is feral cats!") that will persuade me that's okay. Think it's still cruel to keep them inside? Don't own cats. Get a ferret 🤷

Mainly for two reasons. Felines aren't generally seen as a threat. The other they like their far distant cousin have the ability to climb wooden structures to escape harm.
