I was thinking this. Imagine being dr Jayaram. His press tour of “I saved the day” interviews are going to come back to bite him. Even after the judge in the retrial said his testimony was crap he still took every media opportunity he could to make himself look like a hero.
Turns out it was more of a structural medical negligence/incompetence than there's a serial baby killer on the unit. And the consultants weren't doing the job they should have 🧐
Not that that it makes it better for the parents - kinda makes it worse really. Your pepi is still gone and an innocent person's life has been blown up and the structural issues were never really resolved.
I cant get past the fact that the consultants only did ward rounds once a week in a ward full of very sick premature babies (some of them had already died) - what on earth were they thinking?
