Among a list of many probably, 2 or 3 of the biggest failings of the @albomp.bsky.social govt., would have to be
1) inaction on gambling advertising
2) inaction on inquiry on media ownership in Australia
3) maintaining status quo on the sovereign fleecing by the mining/gas oligarchy.
They're also free to keep getting covid because they're not allowed to be vaccinated or boosted, and have to sit in unventilated classrooms. Labor do not care about children at all.
The high hopes were not well founded. I knew that before they got elected after having a conversation with my local member at the polling booth. Asking them to do more, pointing to my son saying I'm voting for his future, yet getting lukewarm remarks at my voting intention.
Can't imagine those kids are going to be anything but furious to see most of the environment they're being encouraged to go out and take part in is on fire, actively flooded, an open cut mine, or entirely privately owned.
I'll concede to online personal verification tests when all politicians concede to intelligence and aptitude tests before being allowed into parliament, I swear there haven't been so many inept and just stupid politicians in parliament since Federation.
I am particularly dismayed by the ableist perspective the government is promoting that real experiences only occur by getting outside and discounts the benefits of the communities and friendships that neurodivergent people like my son can form online using platforms such as Discord
Agreed banning social media is a totally ridiculous idea! Kids aren’t coping bc parents never bother to get on the apps and learn about them themselves so they’ve let their kids ‘walk blindly across a 6-lane freeway’ without any guidance
I remember when kids shows were sponsored by sugary breakfast cereals, candy and toys.
The government overlords decided they were a bad influence on impressionable minds,
Now kids shows are sponsored by antidepressant drugs and Viagra.
Here's a radical idea: give kids a safe alternative to social media? What if we make these easily accessible to kids who cannot drive outside of their house?

If they're going to do that, then instead of trying to please Murdoch and allowing Dutton to co govern, they should go the full Gough.
Make big positive changes.
Go down swinging with a legacy instead of this drawn out public humiliation.
He’s a timid little man who can’t make a decent decision on his own. A bit pathetic really.
"We know what you *want* but instead we're going to do what you *need*, if only you understood"
And those Ladbrokes lobbyists were big tippers.
Reckon $1.80 / $1 at least on that being the case.
@AlboMP
I'm very happy to see you here.
This is a happy space.
