Frequently experienced this issue with a calico cat and a more primitive keyboard three decades ago. A piece of cardstock inserted underneath cat frequently resolves this issue.
Boring serious answer: I slowly, but gently, trained mine to sleep on a square of pile carpet slightly to one side. Might not work with all cats, and she still sometimes slowly oozed over towards the keyboard, like a cat-shaped slime mould 😄 (I’d just gently nudge her back.)
At the start of the lockdown, I found a small table on the street, which I disinfected. I put a pad on that, a heating pad on the pad, then a towel on the heating pad. The cats love it there, with the pad on low, & I wash the towel every laundry day. 😊
