Lucha Underground was ahead of it’s time. I’ll keep dreaming of a big-budget spiritual successor (on a network people actually have) for the rest of my life.

It’s so much fun to revisit it again and be reminded of how many great wrestlers were a part of it (…and Joey Ryan and Matt Striker, etc. too *sad face*)

I don’t miss the restrictive contracts and other shenanigans though.

After I had to quit wrestling because of injury and having no time because i was working 3 jobs to just survive, I took time away from even watching it because it was like my dream got ripped from me.

I just happened to stop on LU one day, and it brought it back for me. Forever grateful to them.

It was something unique in wrestling for sure, and I can totally see how it would appeal to a younger generation.

The wrestlers felt like real heroes and villains at times. They did a fantastic job of laying out a really engrossing narrative.
