I really enjoyed it! It definitely romanticized the game dev process but it helped reignite some of my own passion for the process.

As a book about relationships - one in particular - it is wonderful. You can tell the author is a big fan of gaming and MMOs in particular. It's ok with me that she doesn't know how the sausage is made. Her other book (The Storied Life of AJ Fickry) is a bit more focused, I liked it more

I did read, the writing is so inconsistent. Sometimes seem like she did research the industry, but you can totally see it was written by a person who have no clue what is writing about.
Donkey Kong using tie in the arcade version? Seriously? How could one got something so basic wrong?

I would have gotten it wrong :-) In fairness, most of the fantasy I love probably gets it very wrong in how it feels to use a sword while wearing a full plate of armour, and doesn't hurt the fiction, so I could pass on the inaccuracies of game dev. There was clearly love for games in this story.
