Like bitcoin, like those stupid meme coins...things are only valuable if people value them. A constitution is just words on paper. Laws only work if people believe in them, and if those who enforce them do so because THEY believe in them. The enforcement part is the weak link.

one thing i keep thinking about is how there is simply no way to design a constitutional system that can resist authoritarian incursion if participants in that system do not actually care that much
