Not surprising. However, pretending to implement a language policy by executive order risks to be only performative (no in Austin's sense). He knows it and if he doesn't, he is going to find out. He needs to change de Constitution, and he cannot, that's why he is putting this show.

Yes but that’s pretty clearly protected by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (and Supreme Court precedent around it). Obviously they’d like to dismantle that too, but it would be a gigantic legal problem at least.

I’ve been telling my teams to expect this since summer. TBH I expected it to be legislative, not EO. First step to English Only. Healthcare first, then general business, the muni gov and courts. This has to be stopped.
