This is not the Government's job in any case - they wouldn't try to change the offside rule, or mandate a weight limit for middleweight/heavyweight boxers, for example.

Because even if people do that (and people have), they deflect, and a large portion of their audience wants to believe them, because it confirms their bias, so they’re not willing or interested into researching the truth. Also they tell more lies in a minute than is possible to research on the fly.
