The stars, like dust, encircle me
In living mists of light;
And all of space I seem to see
In one vast burst of sight.
Isaac Asimov; The Stars, Like Dust
That is so freaking cool omfg ๐ Gonna have to repost this. Just think about the things happening cosmically breaks my brain. We are not alone. I feel it in my soul. ๐ง ๐ง
It's ON Wikipedia. It was taken by the Hubble telescope. ๐๐ (but i get what you're saying, not trusting anything that's too amazing or beautiful ๐)
"This is an image of MyCn18, a young planetary nebula located about 8,000 light-years away, taken with the Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2) aboard NASA's Hubble Space Telescope (HST). ..."
Love to have NASA pushed Hubble up into higher orbit. There is an ever growing demand by the Astrophysics community for R/D quality scope time, just saying as a once upon a time graduate student in Astrophysics.
When I was a kid, I was horrified by the movie the crawling eye. I just saw it on Saturday night and I laughed because it was so silly. This picture reminds me of a modern day crawling eye and how scary it is to me now yet somehow beautiful.
