People don’t stress over $37T in debt or $1.7T in annual deficits—they feel the squeeze at the grocery store, in taxes, and in interest rates. $55B (or whatever) in waste? That’s real money to the average voter. These aren’t abstract issues. They’re kitchen-table problems.
