Food / Love Street Worth a wander down, might be close to the night market, can't remember. There was also a novel bar that is on the top of all tall building, on the heli pad. Great views. No idea if it's still there, or what it was called... Heli Bar?
We needed not one, but two of those to prove to the world we’re worth its time. If only the oil industry giant after which that’s named did more than buy the state where all the oil is…

Ah class. Spent a decade in Beijing and travelled around Asia a fair bit, but never actually made it to KL. Was always on the list though, have some friends there. Enjoy mate, eat all the things!
I did a street food tour there (Sambal Streets I think it was called) with a fella called Stephen who is a Liverpool fan and used to live in. Newcastle. Recommend it! Won’t be Stephen doing every one but he was great.
Nice. Work or pleasure? I had a fairly brief stop here during a round the world trip in 2010. Good food markets, was my main takeaway! Had an absolute belter of a grilled fish from some little street hawker that was almost as tall as me. Anyway, hope you'e enjoying it!
Yeah, Rach loves Bangkok but I think KL might be rivalling it at this point. We’re considering Singapore for our next long haul trip. We flew business this time, so now I refuse to do anything else. Means we probably won’t be able to afford to go away again until 2035….
100%. As I say, I won’t do long haul any other way now, which means significantly fewer long haul holidays but because of the MS I’d be dead on arrival without the ability to sleep properly etc.
I've only travelled business once, with work, and it was something else. When we have sleeper trains and buses as a relative norm (certainly in SE Asia and other regions), I still can't believe an ability to lie down is (barring a pilot with Air NZ) not available outside of business/first class.
In Thailand I really like Chiang Mai. But in general, I think Laos as a country and massively underrated and wrongly omitted from most itineraries. Lovely place, great people, and (10 years ago, anyway) still dead cheap. There felt a little like how I imagine Thailand to have been 50-60 years ago.
