Similar to my hack. When the kids grew up and had their own homes, I quit doing Xmas. We go to their house. It's so nice and peaceful and no mess to clean up.

I kept most of our Halloween decorations up until at least about 3 weeks into November (indoors and outdoors). I feel like this Xmas junk is coming down New Year's Day TBH.

Our fam celebrates the 12 days of Xmas & Epiphany (Dec 25 - Jan 6). When the kids were little, they got a big gift on Xmas Day & Epiphany & a smallish gift each day in between. It meant I didn’t have to have all my shopping done by Xmas Day & could take advantage of the sales!

The Twelve Days of Christmas end on the 6th of January in the Protestant tradition, so either way, I think it's odd that people put decorations up soooo early but refuse to keep them up for the actual Christmas season.
