When the Olympics come around, I find that it suffers from one really big issue. I have no idea just how good these athletes are. Some sports look way too easy. Some look way too difficult. Regardless, we have no idea just how simple a sport is because we have no way to measure it.

My idea is an Olympic event in which every country must draft random citizens to participate in the Olympics. The pre-athlete events will not be for medals, so there is no reason to pick and choose citizens. It is merely for "fun". Random citizens compete in these events before the athletes do.

Like Jury Duty, you are flown out to wherever the Olympics are occurring. Your immediate family is invited, but only you are required to go. You get paid time off work, but is it really worth it? You arrive, and the Olympic athletes get only 1 week to train you. They can only teach the basics.

Finally the day arrives. You walk out onto the snow, get onto your board thing, and go. The whole world watches as you deliver a performance that either makes the Olympians look very skilled, or makes the sport look easy.

Overall I think this could fix the Olympics by showing us which sports are actually difficult. Just a funny and silly time.
