In work session today (at about ~1:47), Councilor Novick compared community concerns over the language @taylorgriggs.bsky.social cites from the PGE Harborton decision to Trump's policing of employee language in the federal government... and those are just very different things.

It's about the hearings officer's priorities. And the decision wasn't required.
"It is both true that as a society our energy needs have increased and it is also true that Forest Park is a highly valued environmental resource. Given the evidence presented and Applicant's Project Proposal satisfying the applicable approval criteria, the project is approved."
Anyway, the decision will almost certainly be appealed to the city council so keep your eyes open for a quasi-judicial decision coming before the city council.
If a frontline city worker, say for instance working the front desk of a Recreation center, had to deny registration to a community member as the class was full, and said "this is about facts not feelings" -- would they escape discipline for saying that?
It's a lot more compelling than fueling a data center boom that is raising residential rates and exacerbating the climate crisis.
