It's been many years but my old headphones have finally died and I need a replacement. Any AUDIO NERDS out there willing to help? Here are my google search terms:
- I kinda wanna upgrade to something fancy
- Over-the-ear headphones that are comfy long-term
- Wired!!!
- No mic necessary
help ☺️

They have noise-canceling earpieces and mic! Sounds is really good, too.

Not an audio nerd but I had multiple help me lol
I am amazed by the sound quality so far. I have also connected the v-moda boompro mic, so it is also a great gaming headset now :D
The mic is amazing aswell... an audio sample:

Maybe pick up some less rigid ear pads, though.
Thanks everyone for providing input, I have a lot of options to go through and I'll keep y'all updated when I choose what I'm buying!! 💕💕
the HD 490s are already pretty tonally neutral based on their response graph, but if you want *pure* neutral sound for editing and whatnot, I've heard Sonarworks SoundID Reference is worth looking into - a lot of people I know in the field use it and swear by it!
If you're looking at getting into HiFi headphones, spend some of that money on a Dac/Amp stack. It really does make a difference. JDS Labs, Schiit, or even a portable like the Fiio Q3 will work.
F the "over the ear" - these are leaps and bounds better. Worth every penny.

I have a Sennheiser HD 280 PRO. I love it, good sound, closed over-the-ear headphone.
When the first one was irreparable after 6 years of constant use, I purchased the same one.
- stupid comfortable
- highly repairable
- not bank-breaking ($150 US)
- Actually Sound Good
and if you want open backs (lets all the noise in, better to talk with), DT 990 Pros are great too ^^
but they are comfy and generally sound quite good, esp for the price
You could purchase 3 pair of the 250's for thr cost of one pair of DT 1990's.
Bigger, better reviews too..

Very light, very comfy, over the ear, wired, and doesn't have a mic.
The audio quality is great and it's ~$100 right meow.
a lot of people are reccomending the beyerdynamic dt 770 pros and for good reason, thats my daily pair too
ive actually noticed a lot of youtubers use them, probably because they're really good for the price and very comfortable
- Sennheiser HD560S or HD620S
- Focal Clear OG
- Focal Hadenyz or Focal Azuryz
- Sennheiser HD490 Pro
- Audeze MM-500 or MM-100
- Meze 109 Pro or 109 AER
- AKG K361
HD600 are THE goats but they’re open back
If you have FU money the HD800S are also good open backs, but I’d say try them if you can for comfort
Closed backs you can go Shure SRH840 or Fostex TH610
Sound quality is excellent for mid priced headphones.
good luck
They're a bit tight at first though
most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. sound is stellar, but you may need an amp
While not wireless, it has an audio port, and comes with a really reliable cable by default.
ANC is great, and the noise cancelling is a blessing.
