Poignant letter by a mother: “Don’t worry love, they will never wrestle you from us. They could tariff the air we breathe, seas we swim, valleys we waddle upon. They may hunt us, chase us, imprison us.. and I promise that I will never let their greed corrupt our happiness. With you forever.”

Fantastic photo, though.
We Yanks need to start hatching from an egg on ice. Makes you tougher than a nickel steak...
The mother's don't care for the chicks. The mothers abandon their mate and the colony before winter.
The fathers do it, alone protecting the unhatched egg, then keep the chick safe and warm.
If you are going to be literal, be accurate.
