No sewing needed for this pattern. Just picking up stitches at the top/shoulder (shown in my pic), arm holes, and neckline. I’m modifying this free pattern to be able to use Cascade BLF yarn on smaller US5 needles. https://www.garnstudio.com/pattern.php?id=11678&cid=19

I love many of the dropped shoulder sweater patterns, but the few I have made, I absolutely hate to wear. They always feel like they are falling off my shoulders and also restrict my arm movement.

I have up and only knit raglans or circular yoke sweaters now

This is my first drop shoulder knit so I’ll report back when it’s done how my son likes the fit. He specifically asked for a fit that feels like it’s “falling off his shoulders” so I’m glad to hear your description.
