Question for the GMs, writers, worldbuilders, hell even the players;
Do you prefer stories and the characters in them to be black and white, or in shades of grey?

What is important is that they have a solid core to their behaviors. Bad people can have lines they won't cross just like good people can be pushed over the edge for the right reason
Similarly good men might fall to murder after someone harms their family. I can recall a few instances of it right now
Even something as simple as 'rescue a cat out of a tree' has an upside and a downside, and I want the potential there even if it's ignored.
If lives have weight? Graaaaay that shit out.
I don't mind binary moral lines as a distinguishing character trait, but I prefer morally complex characters as the norm.
Characters starting from "everything's a shade of grey, man!" can EASILY fall into the "philosophy of what I was going to do anyway" trap.
Granted, some folks don't really...get that part, but still, agreed!
Of course grey characters are more interesting, but sometimes you are playing Thirsty Sword Lesbians and you don't want a morally grey character representing fascism. They are evil and that's it. We need games sometimes just to punch fascists without thinking about morality
