Excellent point. Relatedly, several unhoused people die daily. Unhoused people who manage to survive daily indignities & struggles die 20+ years before people who are housed. However, housing injustice is rarely framed as deadly. As they say in the ‘hood, “the math ain’t mathin’.”

In Washington last year, a traffic crash killed or seriously injured someone every 2.7 hours, but I've never seen a TV news station claim that even a single horrific crash "highlights the dangers" of roadway travel.
