I understand why people have to tell themselves stories to feel better, but this is nonsense. The idea that a group of people whose "objective" is a plum job then well paid consultancy work from BP or a privatised utility are having their progressive desired blocked...it's for the birds.

That doesn’t mean centre left politicians don’t need greater conviction in standing up to the powerful interests unsympathetic to their objectives. But working for progressive change within capitalism while winning & keeping yourself in office isn’t exactly easy. Glib hand waving doesn’t help.
