It is real..her name was Rosemary Duffy. She was a former teacher from Pittsburgh. The photo was taken by her son.

I think het son was fan of photoshop and sold the story to the newspaper. The place where her hands are in contact with the sign in the recent photo is rather messy. And every other spec in the sign is identical in both. BS.
