IMO, the statement that one is extreme/wrong/misguided for saying X (where X is deemed to upset the status quo) seems much more commonly lobbed at women than men.
And in the end, it is purposefully isolating and demeaning.
See, I was interpreting this as calm down. Which it sorta is, right? Then I would say and loudly, "When, in the history of being the opposite of calm has being told to calm down actually worked?!" Never, as in never worked.
The number of posts I delete before hitting Send, because I get tired of people saying things that amount to "we need to be nice" or "play nice" is astonishing. I get tired of reading it.
