I would go to the door, ask If the individual would vote for Kamala. Then the listening (me listening) starts. Answer questions…. If they were negative, sometimes I could persuade them to reconsider. They wanted kitchen table - not what our party was selling. There’s more - holler if you want me

I think you might be misunderstanding me. The progressive positions most people tend to agree with, in terms of polling on these issues, are bread and butter things. Wages, housing, healthcare, education, transportation, and so on.

The other problem is that most people don't pay attention to or know anything about policy. Saying, "Let's get better messaging on these policies" neglects the fact that most people don't vote based on policies.

It may be even more important to note that the "middle" isn't real: it lacks foundational principles; rather, the middle exists as a series of compromises to more principled policies.

Politicians on both sides have no interest in passing popular policies, such as paid leave, because their donors do not want these policies passed.

Politicans will talk about these positions on the campaign trail, and immediately abandon them once in office. They’re not delivering for the people.
