I just removed bunnyhopping from my game. Friction with the ground would slow you down, but jumping in the air would free your velocity to increase. So I play Overwatch a lot and a common thing you'll find players doing is just hopping while they're getting from place to place, there's no good reason for this as it doesn't do anything and it's even considered a bad idea cause if someone's aiming at you jumping is far more predictable.

A lot of the time I think I just want something to do while walking, and pressing a button scratches the itch. There's mythic weapons now with some flair animations you can trigger by hitting reload when you're full on ammo and now I just spend time doing that while walking.

In something like Skyrim I find myself wanting to do something in the same way, I wind up throwing fireballs or just endlessly casting conjuration spells while I'm walking around. Walking is boring, it needs some kinda spice.

I used to love bunnyhopping in games like cs, so if your movement is similar to how portal/cs/etc... in that case it makes sense. But a fluid movement with jump and sliding just feels way better.

Right like every speedrun ever of this game has him constantly rolling or moving backwards. What if there was an "only move forward" category
