For the millionth time: Starmer didn’t do a good job or bad job on negotiations. Because this is TariffWang, not a real game.
To go back to Ece Temelkuran’s point. You can’t play chess with a pigeon. Eventually it will flap its wings, knock the pieces over, crap on the board and fly away.

It’s like ‘negotiating’ with a toddler. The toddler will say ‘ok’ at some point, then turn around and not remember a word uttered and do something else altogether.
That isn't neutral.
That was a decision starmer made that did make a difference.
I agree that sucking up won't work long term, but the best strategy is to wait for a ground swell of nations standing up to him that you can join.
And bearing in mind we got the same tariff as a bunch of penguins and a US military base it's hard to say what amount of skill was involved in getting 10%. It's all at the whim of a mad king.
A) piss him off
B) keep your head down and keep you head on.
People that went up against the mad king didn't live long.
Geopolitics is no place for heroism.
Trump will do as he pleases and claim the win regardless
The only way to win is not to play
Not announce "nothing is off the table" in US negotiations immediately. No red lines there apparently
The only thing you can do is try to pick a line that doesn’t specifically make Trump hate you
He’s vindictive and he’s ruling by executive order with apparently no checks or balances
“Tell him what you really think” is a no win strategy
I guess the above isn't a real game either.
