The Drosophila Bruchpilot gene (brp) was named for the German “crash pilot,” bc the mutant flies could not fly. Brp is a component of mature neuronal synapses.

MS Word likes to autocorrect this word to brunchpilot, which makes me crave waffles and mimosas.
