I know this is a subject of a lot of jokes, but he literally doesn’t have to. He only needs to raise his right hand. I have zero love for the Cheeto, but putting your hand on the Bible is not a requirement.
I’m right there with you, but he literally tells them that he prays on his knees every morning. Plus he literally makes his own Bible, so why wouldn’t he?
But one would think a self-proclaimed Christian would do so. No? Not to mention the so-called ones that make up his minions would expect it. It will be interesting to see how they spin this one to make him blameless... "he didn't mean what he said," etc, etc.
Exactly right. At the very least, it’s a slap in the face to his most devoted followers. “I don’t need your votes anymore so I’m not even gonna play along with the fake piety which you really should have seen through right from the beginning.”
Typical fucking Trump...always trying to hedge his bets and cheat the system. Now if he gets impeached a third time he can always claim 'you can't impeach me I never took the oath with my hand on the bible'...he is human sewage.
He claimed he didn't swear an oath with his first corrupt term. This probably convinces him he didn't swear an oath to the Constitution for this sweep either.
I read something somewhere he was having trouble lifting one or the other arm over his hip.. but that actually could have been about someone else and I may .. just ... be a moron....
I didn't watch the inag. so I can't say whether he did raise that hand above the whole time.
Major faux pas…
I do, however, have one question… Does it count? He didn’t put his hand on the Bible he didn’t swear an oath to defend the constitution on the Bible. he’s not our fucking president. Fuck him.
I don't believe in any gods- yet, unlike many who do believe in one, I care about justice and equality for all. I care about my fellow humans and other life on this planet. Belief in a god does not automatically make one a good person, and non-belief doesn't make one bad, or evil.
The "funny" thing is, it need not be a Bible.
He could have used a copy of "Art of the Deal".
The Constitution doesn't say what a swearing-in must include. Most Presidents-elect chose a Bible, as George Washington did, but John Quincy Adams used a book of law. Teddy Roosevelt did not use any book.
He wasn’t dancing last night with both arms elevated.‘I bet you one of his crypto coins that he has an injury and can’t lift it independently to put it in the Bible.
Lets be fair though, nobody beats the right when it comes to satire. Watching them is like watching a Mockumentary in the style of "This is Spinal Tap".
The fact it is reality makes it a whole lot less funny though.
I tell you he's superstitious. I think he thinks it will burst into flames. He can't even call himself a Christian. He fumbles the words when he tries.
I'm an atheist. I think Presidential oaths should be sworn on the Constitution as that is what one is swearing loyalty to, not a Bible. I don't fear consequences for my soul, but I believe actions have consequences and I care how mine affect others. tRump cares about himself above all.
It’s already been decided by SCOTUS that he won’t face any legal consequences for his actions as President, it will take a major turn for any serious investigations when he leaves office, idea of the Bible is you are promising a higher power who can hurt your soul, his allegiances are elsewhere 💵💸💵
Even if he swore with his hand on the Bible his allegiances are elsewhere. If he had would we expect any more of him? I wouldn't. I still have hope that he will suffer consequences in the here and now because that is what I know we have. As much as I hate him, I don't wish him eternal punishment.
Yes - The ineligible insurrectionist had to cheat the voting machines to get here, then he negated it all by forgetting to put his hand on his grifter bible. Good thing too, we almost had a felonious rapist running the country.
No. Many people do not adhere to Christendom. It's an old English custom where it was required. Even the bible says you make the word of god worthless by your traditions. This is one such tradition. The bible is not required.
Omg, I could not place it but this is it! I was thinking she went for the classic “Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp” look or Father Guido Sarducci. The Exorcist. Something. But no. The Hamburglar! Perfect as she probably deals with a lot of burgers. And ketchup.

What a fucking asshole frumpy is.
“In accordance with a presidential proclamation issued by President Trump, Governor Gretchen Whitmer has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags throughout the state of Michigan to be raised immediately for the remainder of Inauguration Day on Monday, January 20, 2025.”

#Atheist
Asking for an entire country.
🤣
I didn't watch the inag. so I can't say whether he did raise that hand above the whole time.
It’s absolutely useless and pointless for atheists and non-believers to put their hand on it.
I do, however, have one question… Does it count? He didn’t put his hand on the Bible he didn’t swear an oath to defend the constitution on the Bible. he’s not our fucking president. Fuck him.
I mean, it's not like he CARES about the Bible or respects it.
He could have used a copy of "Art of the Deal".

He is as immoral as they come.
I loathe that guy.
The fact it is reality makes it a whole lot less funny though.
Thought you might like to know that.

If he can’t make money off the act, he will not perform the act.
