I think that probably varies by area, but where I live a license requires a a pre-trip test, road test, and a driver’s medical exam. Teenagers can’t drive one. A variety of health conditions are prohibitive. They are far stingier with points from tickets. You can lose the license to drive one. - ThreadSky

Costs about 3k to get a cdl and a company will send you on your way with 3 days of training solo on the highway. Cyber trucks are gonna cost 69k +. It’s easier to get in a semi truck

My brother found that truck-driving schools are basically there to teach people who already know how to drive a truck how to get a license.
He knew how to read manuals and pass tests, but wanted to learn how to make a big truck go places and not crash into things, and they don't teach that well.

He was really frustrated by it. Backing up a tractor-trailer to safely park it just wasn't a skill set of his, and he ended up sticking to forklifts when he wanted basic-labor jobs.
