Yes! When you really get into a hobby, especially if it's a hobby that can involve things of varying quality that could be described as "average" vs. "really quite beautiful and special", you'll always have collectors. I have a friend that beads and has a bead collection never to be used.

As a fly fisher and fly tier, I can not relate to this at all. Apart from having several boxes of flies that are too good to fish. And some feathers I am keeping for something really special.
