I do think that Klein is too generous to his cohort. The Oslo Accords, and the continued expansion into the West Bank, were clear signs of Israel's intent.

And in 1982, when Israel was decimating Lebanon the way it now is Gaza, was it then "trying to find its way toward peace and coexistence"?
