Decades ago he wrote occasional columns for either the SF Chronicle or Examiner, I don't remember which. An occasional chuckle but that was it. When he went on TV I gave him maybe 8-10 minutes, twice, then switched to some re-run like Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.
