Hard agree. Good on him for saying something too. It is weird, these commentators who try to cut these athletes down when they've achieved something special. It's not necessary to even mention the next match courtside! Let them enjoy the moment.

It's frustrating that some journalists at press conferences seem more focused on provoking players for clickbait headlines than discussing the actual tennis. I support Ben in dealing with this; it's disrespectful to the sport and the athletes.

He's totally right about the Tien interview, it was shocking. Learner didn't know how to respond at all and the only decent bit was when he took the mic and spoke on his own, which he did very well and quite movingly.

I aways turn off the matches before the interview, they're so inane and embarrasing to watch, i feel bad for the players. I wish more players refused to do them.

Embarrassed Australian here. Post Match interviews have been terrible. Not just poor taste but cringeworthy and frivolous. We have a chance to hear from a professional athlete that's just won a match - let's ask relevant insightful questions.

Well said by Ben and highlighted by the other Ben. There's an art to a post match interview, and it's such a great opportunity to give the winner a moment of glory. Courier is a good example.

When you as a viewer cringe, you know something is off. How is no one in the AO noticing?
