I have a meeting with the eboard of the student group I'm faculty advisor for. I told them be thankful we're at a private university or we might be talking about whether we have to shut the org down

And people's instinct will be to do some type of public outcry but that only works if it will lead to consequences. Ain't none, at least not right now. "This is discrimination" literally is not a thing anymore. We gotta start over. Like over over.
I was ear hustling a fairly large group of Black millenials talking about how great that guy is gonna be for their "bag" - me knowing that they ALL went to Head Start while ALL their parents worked jobs funded by federal programs - medical, legal, educational and social 😮💨
You think all of them benefited from a federal program because they are black? Were you in a specific area that made you think this? I’m just asking, not attacking, as I was not there.
This was a personal anecdote - I know probably 90 percent of the group (i'll say there were roughly 20 men in the group), their parents and where they lived and worked, how they grew up, where they went to school, etc
It’s been clear to me since the election that this is a fight for white ppl bc we’ve done enough workshops, songs, movies, and demonstrations to show them that racism is not only wrong but it also hurts them.
And the publicly founded places were always part of the resource, thankfully , we’re smart. like you know, the battle was coming but when it hits, it hits hard.
Even private institutions are going to feel the heat. Lawsuits by newly emboldened white people claiming they "have been discriminated against" will raise the cost of everything, everywhere--even if those lawsuits ultimately fail in the courts. 😢
