In Fortify, I took a moment to emphasize why @joyannreid.bsky.social has not been “de-platformed,” remind you about the time the network under-sourced Soledad, thirsted for “Trump-like” ratings when when it cancelled Jacque, & received a “I’m not a mammy” memo from Melissa. bit.ly/41jJX4T

Charles White (1918-1979) Hope for the Future, 1946 Lithograph White evoked Michelangelo's Pietà in both arrangement and theme. This print was made while White was an artist-in-residence at Howard. Charles White was married to the artist Elizabeth Catlett (her work in quoted post). #BlackSky #BHM

Trump supporter: “I didn’t vote for cuts to SNAP, Medicaid, or Medicare. Kids shouldn’t go hungry. We need to keep the kids fed.” Did you vote for Trump? “Yes.” THEN YOU DID VOTE FOR THAT. I swear these people have selective amnesia because they were warned months before election day.

Elizabeth Catlett (1915-2012) Sharecropper, 1952 (pub. '68-70) Linocut printed in green, black "Catlett wanted to make art for the people that would be accessible & reflect their struggles for political, racial, gender, and economic equality. Printmaking was ideally suited for this, esp. linocut."

Hill received Secret Service awards and was promoted for his actions that day, but for decades blamed himself for Kennedy's death, saying he would gladly have given his life to save the president.

Me: I’m wondering why they killed Billy Pace from #Paradise so soon, I wanted more screen time for him, but it makes sense Sinatra did him dirty like that 18: It's obvious, Mom. Sinatra wasn’t that big a fan of The Fresh Beat Band Me: OMG! A LITERAL PLOT ‘TWIST’ 18: You’re punny😂 Me: Well, I try

#Paradise S1E7. Wow. I paid for the whole seat but I only needed the edge. Sinatra is a top tier character/villain.

Sorry, we cannot agree

The new episode of #Paradise is one of the scariest, most intense pieces of TV I’ve seen in ages, perhaps since 1983’s The Day After — all the more so, given the current circumstances we are all in. Both Sterling K. Brown and James Marsden deliver Emmy turns.

On the way to work, I wondered how long before they try to close the doors to our museum. Private donations helped get it open but federal funding keeps it going. If you haven’t been yet, you might wanna hurry up and go.

Sinatra is just all levels of terrible! #Paradise

Joann had a sprawling retail footprint and was a victim of the slow US decline toward cheaper, more disposable clothing, but they also suffered a blow during Trump's first term. Trump's 2018 tariffs increased cost of imports and US equivalents were too expensive for customers.

Roadies, do what you can, take care of your people, take breaks from the news and remember we get to do this again next Monday and that has to count for something #antiquesroadshow

I always wondered why they didn't make a spot for Roberta on the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack, given that it was filed with legends... #ItMightBeYou 🙏🏾 youtu.be/YUhPz6dE7M4?...
