Actually there are many examples of U.S. presidents openly hobnobbing with brutal dictators. 💔 No American exceptionalism now or in past.

i.e. Nixon, Somoza (of Nicaragua), & Haig Jr. before White House state dinner in 1971. All smiles.

CIA is still doing that, very much. The Cold War never really ended, it just morphed. US' imperialism is alive and "well" (it's pretty damn far from well, but you know), and it's both dismantling gov agencies that could intervene.. as well as it's killing kids in Gaza. Fascism? It's always been.
