This account has a small enough following that a travel day AMA feels workable. Leave a question before 4 PM CT and I’ll try to reply during the flight.

There are some college campuses that can be rented during their off seasons that I wanted to host a fighting game themed summer camp at. That idea has proven out of reach thus far.

Alongside Evo Japan I was able to visit Nanzoin Temple in Fukuoka. I’m not sure I’ve experienced my mind being still in the way it was there anywhere else.
More traditionally: Amsterdam. I adore its museums and canals.
Best can mean a lot of different things at this point, but I’m partial to Max Presents: Marvel Lives. That show existing at all was a fever dream. That it landed as well as it did was a testament to so many people’s best efforts materializing as well.
Would you have any time in your schedule to discuss my work with @wnfcdojo.bsky.social and what could be done to market / offer our curriculum program to other FGC scenes? I think you’d have a really strong understanding of what would work best. If not, totally okay.
Open to it. Consulting hours are challenging to find leading into the new year, but please shoot me a ping in mid November to see if we can schedule something.
Evo has a rubric guiding game selections. CB really boils down to what the core staff and I are watching and/or playing when the show starts getting built.
The 09-er FGC is approaching their first generational epoch - what’s the one 09-er invention that needs to be retained in commercial applications of the culture?
Feel goods: Attendees & staff reaching out to express how much event experiences impact them - including players who have told me events keep them motivated to stay alive.
Feel bads: Any time we falter in show ambitions, miss attendee expectations, or work obligations damage friendships.
I missed the cutoff so instead of a question I will hope for safe travels and good meals for the day. Also, someone asked about The Crow so, like, I don't got much else to ask about anyway.
I am. Evo has proven to be a rally point for the genre, its players, and the encompassing fandom. Seeing that hold true in more locations should create more interest globally.
I’d imagine the social team will join us here as awareness grows. Not sure when that is yet today.
Music and books mostly. I like to bring a few records I haven’t listened to before and novels with lengths inhospitable for lighter reading on long flights.
You will have to fail to learn. Disappointing others will be part of that process. Have grace for everyone taking part in that education, including yourself.
I think potential entrants will depend a lot on when it actually releases. Eclipsing is certainly possible, but SF as a franchise holding debut release records is hard to bet against.
I don’t think this is answerable. There’s many. The highlights change. The memories squish together a bit and compress into feelings more so than moments.
With that said, probably mom attending and the kind things folks said to her about the show.

And what's a place you'd love to travel to without any such pretense?
The first would be fine as somewhere you've been before to revisit but the second should be somewhere completely new to you.
Sweden.
Thanks for giving me the chance to show off Cyberbots at CB this year.

1980’s: Contra
1990’s: Heroes of Might & Magic III
2000’s: Street Fighter IV
2010’s: Blasphemous
2020’s: Elden Ring
I’m also still a fan of sketchbooks & post-it notes for priorities.
More traditionally: Amsterdam. I adore its museums and canals.
Nakameguro during blossom season, the mural covered stairwell at Magnet in Shibuya, or the Museum of Contemporary Art are still standout locations.
Recent favorite word is すごい.
But I hope you can find time for yourself, man. You work really hard.
Feel bads: Any time we falter in show ambitions, miss attendee expectations, or work obligations damage friendships.
With enough blacksmithing skills developed: Havel the Rock.
St. Louis Pizza is F tier. I don't make the rules.
I’d imagine the social team will join us here as awareness grows. Not sure when that is yet today.
Bonus: do you have any that are starting with your immediate family?
Bonus: Yes, CB weekends.
Least favorite: Weaving together competing priorities against limited budgets.
For me, it was actually getting to know the people I’d been privileged to work with before, but not had a chance to actually speak and hang out with.
With that said, probably mom attending and the kind things folks said to her about the show.
