Starmer should do a Macron. Take no shit. Openly correct the lies in front of the world's press. The US has proven itself no ally or friend to the UK or Europe. Time to draw a line and side with those who actually *are* our friends and allies.
I agree. I think we rely on the US for maintenance of our nuclear subs and missiles. We are buying planes for our 2 aircraft carriers from them and when we fight we rely on US satellite surveillance and intelligence. The French military is much more independent of the US.
No, we are buying American F-35s. I just checked. Ten or twenty years ago I think there was a plan to let French jets use UK carriers. I think it was meant to save money. We would have co-operated with them in other ways but we were still in the EU then.
