I agree that history repeats itself. I’m afraid we will need to repeat the American Revolution. Foreign assistance was needed to overthrow the king’s authority. I am happy to see protests and all that is being done to thwart the current admin, but it will not it be enough.

My 102 yo grandmother, who lost her first husband in WW2 and whose second husband (my grandfather) spent his 20s bombing Nazi oil refineries in Eastern Europe, died in December. I have been saying ever since that I am so grateful she is not alive to witness what has happened since.

As a European, I agree it's shocking and worrying. Here in Europe, we will have to prepare for war with Russia in the near future, possible by the end of decade or even before. I don't trust Trump or Vance at all and see them as Russian assets. In a sense, they are siding with our enemy.
