I had quite a trial in Bates City municipal court where the city tried to force my client out of business because he was selling his gasoline for less than the favorite son. Literally. He had undersold the mayor’s son’s gas station.

Correct. There is a town called Bates City, MO but it's actually in Lafayette County about an hour plus Northeast of Bates County, if my memory of the area is correct.
