I am so washed that not only do i not recognize any of the musicians i see advertised around the city, I cannot even tell what they do or what their deal is or if it's a band or a guy or a lady or a hologram or whatever

I feel like Covid tripled the amount of acts that are apparently huge, called like “hans.” but are three guys, and I will never find out about until I open, like, an Irving Plaza email
You think this will be a gradual change as you get older, then one day every band and artist you knew in town is gone or doing different things, and everyone in their place is new and frightening.
there are ads on the subway here for a guy named GLOANSY and the only thing on the ads is a spotify logo, a shirtless guy in shades + a bowler hat, and the word GLOANSY
Many venues used to have genre themed nights, or an artist description on the calendar (some still do), but I get an email from a local venue that looks like a list of randomly generated names & royalty free images. At least you can look em up on YouTube to see what they actually sound like ‘live’.

Maybe Covid accelerated this for us.
