An acquaintance who's really into Superman loves to cite the crossover with Captain Marvel, where Supes finds out Billy Batson is just a pre-teen kid, then hunts down Shazam to give him a piece of his mind. (After which he goes to Billy as Clark to offer human support.)
Yeah, he didn't know Billy was a kid and went and got all mad at the Wizard it was a good mini series
He was confused why a grown man woulda been sad about a child death that he called best friend Superman went and got all mad at Billy for tantrum not realizing he's a kid and Shazam revealed self
yeh i've got it bookmarked somewhere else but Shazam's response to Superman was interesting, too - IIRC something like 'you don't like it, YOU do something about it.' So he does.
The new Superman animated series, My Adventures With Superman, is also great for this. Very much so focused on the human side of him & the core concept of Superman as someone who looks at an immense power they've been given and asks, "how can I use this to help people?"
