For all of human history the hard part of learning real things was "obtain information". In my lifetime that has changed, and is now "suppress noise". None of our social, cultural, or political structures have adequately adapted to this change

Anyone who says "In the age of the internet, ignorance is a choice" has not tried to learn a skill from scratch in the past decade. If you have no idea where one of the ever shrinking number of reliable sources is and how to sift through that source to filter out all the bullshit, you are fucked.
Yes. Ease of information access does not result in critical thinking. The flip side of changing your mind because you learned something is not changing your mind because you only sought out bias reinforcement.
